Thank you for thinking of the East Hampton Public Library! We use volunteers to enhance public service to the community. Volunteers provide important support services to the staff and/or work on special projects.
Adults
The Library uses adult volunteers primarily for two purposes.
Programs: Many of our community programs are lead by volunteers who are willing to share their expertise. For example, we have had volunteers lead workshops on bicycle repair, homeschooling and metal detecting. If you have an expertise you’d like to share with the community, please contact Adult & Young Adult Librarian, Keri Blanda at kblanda@easthamptonct.gov or 860.267.6621 to discuss your idea further.
Friends of the Library: Friends of the Library volunteers do varied tasks for the Library including assisting with events, planning programs, organizing fundraisers and assisting with the Book Sale. If you have an interest in helping in any of these ways, please contact the Friends of the Library for ways to get involved.
Teens
Teens can get involved with the Library through two organizations.
Teen Advisory Board: The Teen Advisory Board is a group of local teenagers that work with the Library to plan programs for other teens, provide input to expand our YA/Teen collection and share their knowledge, creativity and interests to make the East Hampton Public Library a place all teens love to be. To apply to be on our Teen Advisory Board, contact Adult & Young Adult Librarian, Keri Blanda at kblanda@easthamptonct.gov or 860.267.6621.
Interact: Interact is a community service group at East Hampton High School. Interact volunteers help out at children’s programs through out the year and assist our Children’s Librarian with creative tasks in the Children’s Room. If you have interest in joining Interact to help the Library, please contact Teacher Kristin Keska at the High School.
