Summer Reading

  • Summer Reading

Join us for our end of summer reading celebration concert as we welcome Jukebox 45, Connecticut’s premiere 50s and 60s showbands to the Center School Gazebo stage.  Bring a picnic dinner and join us on Friday, August 20th from 5:30 to 7:30pm.  Raffle winners will be announced live at intermission!  Let us know you’re coming here!

Children’s Summer Reading:  Birth to Grade 5

Set a weekly reading goal with your child. You can choose whether to read a certain number of books or to read for a certain amount of minutes.  Each week, read to meet your goal! Children can read independently or can be read to. It all counts!  Once your child has met their goal, visit the library for an animal sticker and raffle tickets to win great prizes!

Teen Summer Reading:  Grades 6 – 12

Each week complete different challenges like reading for an hour, going for a walk, or giving someone a compliment and then check in at the Library to receive raffle tickets to win amazing prizes like art supplies, pinatas or dungeons and dragons books!  Plus one lucky participant will win a brand new bike donated by AirLine Cycles!

Adult Summer Reading:  Ages 18 and up!

Each week complete different challenges like reading for an hour, taking a hike, or attending a library program and then check in at the Library to receive raffle tickets to win amazing prizes like book baskets, craft kits and more!
