The 2025 Summer Reading Program at the

East Hampton Public Library!

Each year, the East Hampton Public Library hosts exciting and educational Summer Reading Programs for children, teens, and adults. These programs are designed to prevent summer learning loss and inspire participants to read, explore new interests, and connect with their community, all for the chance to win great prizes!

 

All Ages Summer Reading Kick Off Party

Join us on Friday, June 20 from 5pm-7pm at the fields at Center School to kick off our Summer Reading celebration! Sign up for the Summer Reading Program and enjoy all of the fun activities at our kick off event, including a foam party, a photo booth, sno-cones, face painting by Epoch Arts, and more!

 

Children’s Summer Reading:  Birth to Grade 5

Set a weekly reading goal with your child. You can choose whether to read a certain number of books or to read for a certain number of minutes. Each week, read to meet your goal! Children can read independently or be read to. It all counts!  Once your child has met their goal, visit the Library for their weekly sticker and raffle tickets to put towards winning great prizes like a new bicycle, Hartford Yard Goat tickets, a giant Squishmallow, a Polaroid camera, book sets, and more! Once a week, children can also roll the dice on our giant board game for even more chances to win. Plus, they can take on fun challenges like creating art or enjoying outdoor adventures to earn even more raffle tickets!

 

Teen Summer Reading:  Grades 6 – 12

Each week, complete fun challenges like reading for an hour or completing a random act of kindness. Then, check in at the Library to earn raffle tickets for a chance to win awesome prizes like a brand-new bike, Hartford Athletic tickets, a piñata, a JBL speaker, and more! At each weekly check-in, you’ll also get a scratch-off card with even more chances to win.

Want even more ways to earn tickets? Complete summer-long challenges like checking out a Playaway audiobook or a graphic novel, or answering trivia questions about the Library and the town. Each one you complete earns you extra raffle tickets!

 

Adult Summer Reading:  Ages 18 and up

Each week, take on simple, rewarding challenges like reading for an hour or moving your body for ten minutes. Stop by the Library to check in, earn raffle tickets, and receive a scratch-off card for even more chances to win!

Want to boost your odds? Complete summer-long challenges like checking out books from different genres, attending a Library event, or answering fun trivia questions about the Library and the town. Every completed challenge earns you extra raffle tickets! Prizes include dance lessons, rock climbing passes, a Keurig, and gift cards to fantastic local businesses, so don’t miss out on the fun and your chance to win!
